The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is partnering with the LSU Ag Center to offer a six-week COOKING COURSE FOR TEENS beginning this January. Each course is team-taught by a volunteer chef and nutrition educator and covers meal preparation, grocery shopping, food budgeting and nutrition. This program is provided at no cost to you. βΎ WFMS Baseball try-outs will be held this Wednesday, December 2nd. Try-outs will be at the Sports Park from 3:00-5:15 PM. The boys will ride a bus to the park directly after school. Parents will pick up students at the sports park.

Congratulations goes to Ms. McMillanβs reading classes for winning the My Tree Louisiana Competition in TWO categories: the most gallons of stormwater intercepted by an individual tree and most species diversity! This contest was sponsored by Baton Rouge Green. Way to go West Fel Explorers!! π
Students in Ms. McMillans reading class have been researching trees and learning to identify a variety of species as part of a project in collaboraiton with National Geographic. They have identified trees and collected data all around campus, and they even went to Cat Island Natinal Wildlife Refuge to collect data on a 1,500-year-old cypress tree. WOW π²
