WFMS is thrilled to announce that 8 of our students placed in the STATE YOUNG AUTHORS CONTEST! In 6th grade: 3rd Place Fiction-Bailey Simmons; 2nd Place Nonfiction-Kaitlyn Whitaker; 3rd Place Poetry-Ava Cathey. In 7th grade: Tie 1st Place Fiction-Mary Benton Levasseur; Tie 3rd Place Poetry-Brylee Broussard. And in 8th grade: 2nd Place Fiction-Josie Gonzalez; 2nd Place Nonfiction-Allison Guillory; 2nd Place Poetry-Joey Peno.
Note from WFMS—All students will take SPRING PICTURES on Thursday, April 14th. Students may wear appropriate spring “dressy” attire for the photos (see student handbook). Anyone not wanting to participate should wear regular uniform clothes. Students will receive proofs at a later date. WFMS swept the house today at the Louisiana Youth Legislature! Our students passed 5 bills and the following students were elected into office: Jared Lane - Governor, Laurel Fiser- LT Gov, Jack Sam Leak - Speaker of the House, Jayden Lee- President of the Senate

Note from WFMS—Due to the high risk of severe weather tomorrow, March 30, West Feliciana Parish Schools will be closed. Every student should have an AR book to read for their ELA class. Students should read for 30 minutes and write a STOP-N-JOT summary at the end of the session or for each chapter. This assignment will be collected by your child’s ELA teacher.
