Students participate in Basin Activity.

A second year group of West Fel Explorers was supposed to attend T.R.E.E.'s Sunship III program in Covington, Louisiana this January with grant funding from the National Geographic Society, but due to the pandemic it was not possible. So, instead, they decided to bring the Sunship experience to the students of WFMS.  With the help of our local 4H and LSU Ag, WFMS was able to host Wetlands Day.  Students who attended Sunship III last year, along with some new students built an activity modeled after one of our Sunship experiences with guidance from Sunship Program Director Sue Brown. Together they developed the Basin Activity, an interactive simulation of the water cycle and the way pollution travels in our waterways.
