Through the technology of Skype, students at Bains Lower Elementary School in St. Francisville recently participated in a reading session with first lady Donna Edwards, wife of Gov. John Bel Edwards. Donna Edwards read the book "Bernice," by Patricia Reece, of Slidell, which deals with the negative effects of bullying. At one point, the governor and the family's dog, Lady, joined the session, which was organized by Wendy Richardson and Jean Woodside.
