  • Congratulations go to Ms. Jessica Walker, WFHS Math Teacher, for being selected as a semi-finalist for Louisiana State Teacher of the Year!  Ms. Walker will be recognized as 1 of only 5 semi-finalists throughout the state at the 12th annual Cecil J. Picard Awards Ceremony in July in Baton Rouge.  Ms. Jessica Walker who is well deserving of the honor!

  • A national school metrics group just rated our school system the 2nd best school system in the state!

  • WFMS and WFHS students spent Thursday planting marsh grass in Pecan Island through a partnership with The 300, a Louisiana coastal restoration group.  What an awesome experience!

  • June Morris and Emma Strahan do a great job of reading before school at Bains Elementary!

Food for Thought

  • It's the time of the year for celebrations!  Let's remind our young people that it is wise to make good decisions as they celebrate prom and graduation.  A special thanks goes to our DARE organization, our sheriff's office, and our DA for supporting us in keeping our young people safe.
