Milton's Message

   May 22, 2019

In the summer, the days were long, stretching into each other.  Out of school, everything was on pause and yet happening at the same time, this collection of weeks when anything was possible. ~ Sarah Dessen

West Feliciana Parish Schools' Job Fair ~ May 30

School Board Meeting ~ June 18

Reflecting on Last Week

  • Once again West Feliciana is recognized as a top district in the state.  West Feliciana Schools had over 68% of their 2017-18 graduates attend a 4-year or 2-year College or University during the 2018-19 school year. This makes us 2nd in the state for percent of students attending college after high school! #wearewestfel

  • Mr. Kevin Beauchamp was recognized at our May School Board Meeting for 19 years of service as a board member for District 2 and 7 years as School Board President.  Mr. Beauchamp resigned from our board this month in order to serve on another board.  We are grateful for his service to our students, parents, and community.  Pastor Milton Coats served as our interim board president for our May board meeting.  He did an outstanding job!

  • Each school celebrated their custodians who work so hard to make sure our schools are clean, safe, and run properly for our students and fellow employees!  No party is like a West Fel party because a West Fel Party never stops!  Our custodians at all of our schools prepare, plan, and host one event after another without every slowing down, and keep the schools running for their students and faculty everyday.  We are grateful for our hard working custodians.

Bains Lower

  • Another banner year for Bains Lower as they excel in teaching the arts through all of their classrooms.  The banner was provided by LAA+ Schools!

  • Ms. Samantha Williams explains the differences between muscle groups of humans and mice to her Biology Honors class in preparation for a dissection lab.

  • Freshman Lance Leatherwood-Garrett helps classmate Tramel Veals prepare for mouse dissection in Ms. Samantha Williams' Biology Honors course.

  • Freshman Samantha Ponzo directs classmate Bryce Jarrell as he dissects a mouse's abdomen in Ms. Samantha Williams' Biology Honors class.

  • Freshmen Sarah Smith and Samantha Ponzo offer directions to Bryce Jarrell as he makes an incision to a mouse in Ms. Samantha Williams' Biology Honors course.

  • Freshmen Cardell Smith, Christian Bristow, Lauren Dupuy, and Anna Rea consult lab directions to dissect a mouse in Ms. Samantha Williams' Biology Honors course.

  • Congratulations goes to our mock trial team for winning the state title and competing valiantly at the national Mock Trial Championship in Athens, Georgia this week.
