WFHS Girls Relay Team, Emma Kate Temple, Mathilde Fox Smith, Kelly Goff and Samantha Ponzo - 3rd place in the 4X800m State Relay 

  • Congratulations go to Emery Godke for being named to the LHSAA All-Academic Composite Team.  Emery also earned a $500 scholarship from the Louisiana Track Coaches Association!

  • Kindergarten students are thrilled that they surpassed their goal of 75% of them reading at least 31 sight words by May 2019!!!  83% of the Kindergarten students met their goals! Kinsley Dyer, Zyriel Dock, Margaret Bell, Ja'Kaylinn Washington, Stella Levert, Demi Jacobs, and C'Maraih Roach celebrate!

  • Ms. Natalie Beam, West Feliciana Parish Librarian, drops by the Bains Lower Library to provide parish library cards to our students in Kindergarten.

  • Students in Ms. Becky Posey's class are enjoying writing about their Summer plans!

  • Ms. Donyella McVay and her students are excited and ready to start their day!

  • Ms. Liza Bryant reviews rhyming words with her students and monitors their understanding by having them use the "thumbs up/thumbs down" method to determine if a pair of words rhyme.

  • The students in Ms. Hughes and Ms. Gilfoil's second grade are studying changes to Earth's land and used baking soda and vinegar to make their play-doh volcanoes explode. 

  • Ms. Lacy Jewell's 7th grade Drama classes present demonstration speeches to their classmates. The students had to teach their classmates step by step how to do something. Jackson McKell taught us how to make the copycat version of Raising Cane's delicious sauce!

Falynn Cupit hopes to study cosmetology and hair in the future so she taught us how to do a Dutch braid on her mannequin! 

Jack Louis taught us step by step how to pot a plant correctly, then gave Ms. Jewell the plant as a little gift.

 

  • Dakarri Davis, Chris King, and Monty Boyd test their cup design in Ms. Emily Hurst's science class.

  • Anna Grace Berry and Gabby Orcino are making Louisiana posters for collages for Ms. Shellee Harvey's class.

  • School Resource Officer Carey O'Brien reads to Ms. Tammy Dawson's Pre-K class.

  • Averitt Grimsley celebrates the 100 point Accelerated Reader Club with a trophy!  He also received a WFHS game ball!

  • WFHS students partner with Mr. Kevin McQuarn, professional videographer, to create a video to document a great educator in West Feliciana History, Mr. John S. Dawson, and his legacy of educational excellence.

  • Linda Dunn enjoys a winning streak at Bingo with her grandsons, Julian and Joel Johnson.

 

  • Stacy Leonard, Lashonda Franklin, Donna Duncan, Pamela Jones, and Adriane Hargrove serve delicious items on the potato bar for Grandparents Day.

  • Dianne Rowan enjoys Grandparents Day with DaNyla' Emery.

  • Early Head Start parent Brittney Turner and her daughter Ivy enjoyed playing a fun game of bingo!

  • WFMS Reader Leaders partner with Bains students to make bird feeders from recycled water bottles as a final project of the year.

  • WFMS 6th grade students LEAD THE WAY for next year's group of middle school students (5th graders) during Transition Day at WFMS!

  • Congratulations goes to all of our DARE graduates!  A special thanks goes to our Sheriff's Department for educating our students on the dangers of alcohol and drugs!  After the graduation program, the students had a day to enjoy our parks.

  • The local library partnered with WFHS to host its first student study night in preparation for their finals and standardized tests. Students made great use of the space and resources, and it was a tremendous success! Freshmen in Mrs. Means's Advanced Placement Human Geography course review vocabulary: Ayanah Fungcharoen-McCray, Rae'ghan Williams, Jayla Burrell, Kearstin Lee, Maggie Hawkins, Mary Frances Whitehouse, and Alex Patin.

  • Freshmen Caylen Delaney, Madilynn Travis, Abby Benton, Tori Gunnels, Micaela McEachern, William Ralph, Taylor Hughes, Sarah Roldan, and Lizzie Dieguez study major vocabulary and course themes.

  • WFMS offers "Transition Day" for Bains' Fifth Graders to assist students as they move from 5th grade (elementary school) to 6th grade (middle school).

  • Freshman Sarah Roldan reviews economic models for Mrs. Means's AP Human Geography course with classmates Abby Benton, Lizzie Dieguez and Kinley Stuart.

  • Junior Austin Roldan and sophomore Jacob Barbosa collaborate on a presentation for Mrs. Dieguez's Spanish II course.

  • Freshmen Andrew Godke, Brooklyn Perry, and Laryn Giroir collaborate on packets for Ms. Doherty's English I course.

  • Junior Chri'Shayla Wilson takes her culminating reading level test in Ms. Ourso's English III class.

  • Ms. Kent instructs her English I students in one of her final courses before retirement at the end of the school year.

  • Freshman William Ralph uses Sustained, Silent Reading time to prepare for upcoming Accelerated Reader tests.

  • Freshmen Madie Beth Posey and Ella Core make use of "Hype Time" for intervention and studying.
