  • Chloe Singleton, Marcus Doherty, Chrissy Duncan, Opal Boeker, Nico Mendel, Judah Lowery, and De'Caryous Dixon celebrate making the 100 point Accelerated Reader Club!

  • Our WFHS ProStart Culinary Team placed 1st in state and will now compete nationally.  As a fundraiser, the ProStart team partnered with Restaurant 1796 to create a delicious meal and to raise funds for the trip.

  • In Ms. Laura Lindsey's art class, Pre-K students create a flower using watercolors.  And after making beautiful artwork, they finished the class by doing the Hokey Pokey because that is what it is all about!

  • Congratulations go to Joshua Johnston, Jermon Harris, Londyn Kaigler, Kaleah Cummings on achieving the 100 point Accelerated Reader Club!  Also congratulations to Benji Shaw, Helen Claire Wesberry, and Cheyenne Wade for making the 100 point club! All students received a trophy and a gift card to Burger King!

  • Cheyenne Wade also celebrates her achievement of the 100 point club!

  • A special thanks goes to the "West Feliciana Parish Retired Teachers Association" for providing WFMS staff a wonderful lunch during Staff Development week.

  • A large crowd of parents and students attended the WFMS Athletic Banquet this week. 

  • Students in Ms. Jill Thibodeaux's class write on their desks!  That is correct!  They write on their desks to solve math problems. 

  • The Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin filmed students engaging in the Open SciEd science curriculum. We are a pilot for the new science curriculum and because of our teachers' hard work, we have been recognized for excellence in teaching the curriculum by our state, and other states as well.

  • Nakiya Pittman "leads" the lesson in Ms. Nicole Lynch's science class. 

  • Bains Lower teachers meet to help each student achieve excellence because that is always the goal.

  • Paris Blacks, Terry Straughter, and Madison Rogilliio are proud of the work they have done with Ms. Cherie Reich.

  • Congratulations goes to VFW Auxiliary American flag Coloring Winners: Laila Hogan, Maitlyn Dedon, Huxley Self, Annabel Morrow, Natalia Waldrop, and Dovie Leblanc.

  • Bains Lower first graders practice graduation!

  • Pre-K students were overjoyed that they met their grade level goal of recognizing 40 or more upper or lowercase letters of the alphabet by the end of the year!  Jackson Foster, Rayne Day, Scarlett Torress, Anna Tilley, Kadrick Jackson, Beatles King, and Isabella Calvert celebrate!

  • Pre-K students learn how to use a 3D printer in Ms. Natasha Hayes' STEM class. 

  • Benjamin Haynes celebrates his Mathematics Benchmark Assessment!

  • Jontre Cummings, Mykell Smothers, and Ashton Freeman are working on finding the surface area of a cone during a gallery walk in Ms. Claire Dyer's math class. 

  • Ms. Christian Funderburk is explaining a writing assignment to Cha'Darius Williams and Brock Cormier.

  • Adam Theriot and Erick Sullivan are taking measurements using a light probe and digital thermometer during a Lab in the OpenSciEd Weather Unit in Mrs. Bush's class.

  • Jermarian Jackson, Johnny Haile and Lillie Lynch are comparing the temperature of the air at ground level and right above ground level in Ms. Parkerson's science class. 

  • Wyly Brown, Hunter Young, Elise Meche, and Sydney Cooper are looking for parts of speech and analyzing a poem in Ms. Kate Smith's class. 

  • 4th graders show off their rewards for exceptional work!

  • Fourth grade students work on Genius Hour projects about Louis Braille and blindness in preparation for our visit to LSVI.

  • JJ Jackson reads his AR book during Mrs. McMillan's class. 

  • Zyriana Robertson and Er'Nayia Tolliver are working on identifying text structure in Mrs. Smith's ELA class.

  • Lauren Mendenall, WFHS Junior who is fighting Ovarian Cancer, was an honorary captain/coach at the Southeastern vs Central Arkansas softball game over Spring Break!

  • Congratulations go to WFHS Cadet Ensign, Trelencia Johnson, as she was selected to the NJROTC Scholarship Preparatory Program at Southern University.  She will receive a $145,000 scholarship!

  • Congratulations go to the WFHS Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams!  Both the boys and girls are regional champions!  Congratulations go to Kennedy London for earning Outstanding Performance, Destiny Carter for earning Outstanding Field, and Kam Jackson for earning Outstanding Track!

  • Congratulations go to Ms. Eunice Dieguez, WFHS Spanish Teacher, who is a semifinalist for the Louisiana Teacher of the Year!

  • Jacob Carter, Maggie Trahan, Mariana Heil, Lakelin Parker, and Yesvaine Elliot lead the morning announcements at Bains Lower!  These students used great enthusiasm to get everyone going on the first day back from Spring Break!
