NEWS

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

We appreciate your support as we have continued to take precautions against the coronavirus and have worked hard to maintain a safe environment for our students and faculty. As you know, the governor has required all schools to close beginning March 16 until April 13.

What this means for students:

  • Support will be provided.
    • Continued practice will be available to students online or through paper packets. Monday, you will receive more information about accessing the assignments.
    • The purpose of the assignments provided during the closure is to avoid a loss of instruction, continue skill practice, and allow students to continue to prepare for standardized assessments such as LEAP, AP exams, and certification tests. This work will not be graded.
    • Lunch distribution is being discussed and details will be provided Monday.
    • All school events from March 13 to April 13 will be canceled. This includes ACT prep, Saturday detention, field trips, competitions, choir concerts, family nights, attendance recovery, etc.
    • We will continue to follow LHSAA's guidance regarding athletic events.
    • If students were absent today, they can pick up their belongings from the schools Monday between 9:00-3:00.
    • Parents can also pick up medication Monday between 9:00-3:00.

Guidance from CDC and Louisiana Department of Health

  • Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.
  • Cover cough and sneeze with tissue.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
