Reflecting on Last Week 

  • The West Feliciana Head Start Program was honored at the West Feliciana School Board meeting for making the Louisiana Department of Education Honor Roll for early childhood education.

  • Ryleigh Martin and Graci Heil write letters using snow.

  • Ms. Brenda Collier assists the Head Start children, Ki'Mya H., Bryson W. and Treylen C.,  as they help bring their "evergreen tree" to life! 

 

  • Kristin Veal and Kelsey Vessell were recognized for knowing 20 letters or more of the alphabet!

  • Bains Lower provided toys for children in West Feliciana and an orphanage in Natchez Mississippi!  A SHOUT OUT goes to Ms. Elizabeth Bristow for coordinating an effort to impact children not only in our parish but also in other communities. #wearewestfel

  • On National Signing Day, WFHS Seniors Cam Jackson and Khiry Morrison celebrate their signing with family, friends, and West Fel employees.

  • On Wednesday, December 19, WFMS students Wyly Brown and Alyssa Davis made our call out to all parents in our district.  They did a great job of providing important information for our families.

  • First Student is a partner with our school system in providing transportation for our students.  The company donated $5,000 to support our STEM programs at all of our schools.

  • Dalton Carter, Ashton Williams, Braylen Cobb, Dakota Soignet earn a game ball for making dramatic growth throughout the school year! A special SHOUT OUT goes to Ms. Sharon Gabriel for helping our students grow and rewarding them when they do so. #GrowthMindset

  • West Feliciana High School Cross Country Coach Nick Smith celebrates a moment at the United States Track and Field Association Coaches Clinic with WFHS Alumni Primmecha Coates who coaches at Grambling and Miguel Pate who coaches at Alabama.

  • WFHS students, Jack Hosford, Mary Elizabeth Barrow, and Lilly Ray are recognized as participants of the Baton Rouge Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

  • Mr. Jesse Perkins, our former superintendent, supervisor, principal, and teacher, celebrated his 75th birthday this week.  Mr. Perkins is an asset to our school system.  Although retired from the school system, he still serves us in so many ways.

  • Bains Lower Polar Express! A special thanks goes to the BLE faculty and staff for going above and beyond to make Bains Lower Disney World everyday and a very special place for children at Christmas time.

 

  • Cynthia Whitaker delivers Coats for Kids to our students!

  • Bains 2nd graders, Kyleigh Hardy and Davis Cobb, use planks to build structures with a bridge, stairs, ramp and tunnel. 

  • Bains second grader, Bryson Holmes, sends a marble down his tunnel with ramps.

  • Gabriel Diaz, Bains 3rd grader, builds a tunnel and bridge with stairs using Brain Flakes.

  • The Kid's Christmas Celebration sponsored by Sheriff Austin Daniel and the West Feliciana Sheriff's Department is an event that showcases what is best about our wonderful community.  A special thanks goes to our Sheriff and his team who work hard to ensure that all children in our parish receive a toy for a Christmas.  

  • Bains Elementary Luminous Leaders (students) came up with an idea for pictures with The Grinch to raise money for our local animal shelter.  Over 400 pictures were taken and $2000 raised! "Maybe Christmas" the Grinch thought, "doesn't come from a store.  Maybe Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more."

 

  • The annual Bains Lower Christmas Play was a blast!

  • Leighton N., Early Head Start, and Ms. Elizabeth Bristow conduct the train at Polar Express Day!
