WFHS GRADUATION PATHWAYS

Louisiana now requires all students to choose the TOPS University or TOPS Tech/Jumpstart diploma pathway for graduation. Students are required to successfully complete the following units in their chosen pathway.

Beginning with students entering the 9th grade in 2014-15 and graduating in the 2017-18 school year and thereafter, the calculation of the TOPS Core grade point average will use a 5 point scale for grades earned in certain AP courses, Gifted Courses, and Dual Enrollment courses used to complete the TOPS Core Curriculum. BESE determines which courses qualify. For such courses, 5 quality points will be assigned to a letter grade of “A”, 4 quality points will be assigned to a letter grade of “B”, 3 quality points will be assigned to a letter grade of “C”, 2 quality points will be assigned to a letter grade of “D”, and zero quality points will be assigned to a letter grade of “F”. Students earning credit in courses graded on the 5-point scale may earn a grade point average on the TOPS Core that exceeds 4.00.
